Description:
Zoology Club is for the brave and curious kids who love animals and are eager to learn more about this planet’s incredible and diverse wildlife! While we love our furry cat and dog friends, this class will focus on the lesser-known exotic wildlife, like reptiles, parrots, primates, and more! We will learn the importance of our planet’s wildlife and find out how we can better protect it. Each class will begin with a “fact or fiction” where we investigate popular animal myths to dispel what is fiction and discover what is fact. We will learn about everything from animal’s complex habitats to their baffling communication techniques to their astounding (and sometimes gross) defense mechanisms. After getting the chance to meet some real-live exotic animals (lizards, spiders, tortoises, and more!), we will conclude with an animal-themed game!
Our Zoology Club teacher, Ms. Haley, is a professionally trained exotic animal handler with 3+ years experience teaching zoology classes to children with live animal demonstrations and assisted handling, giving children the chance to have safe interactions with our planet’s incredible animals! She has worked at exotic wildlife rescue centers that facilitate after school programs, summer camps, tours, birthday parties, and more, in California, Costa Rica, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island!
